Grocery Shelf

Grocery Shelf

  • Setting a project
  • Gathering reference
  • Importing render background
  • Grid components in cm.
  • Creating and manipulating primitives
  • Tools to include but not limited to:
    • Beveling
    • Curve & revolve
    • Duplicate
    • Polygon primitive component manipulation etc...
  • UV layout of all objects in scene
    • to include individual face selection for glass labels.
  • Application of AIStandard material to include glass
  • 4-point lighting
  • Shadows
  • Properly formatted Outliner with groups and a naming convention
  • Naming of materials and texture files
  • Bookmarking camera views
  • Arnold rendering
  • Turn-in file structure

I accomplished all that was required of me except for the fact that none of my textures came out like they were supposed to and I have no fix. I did not have difficulty uv them but the textures never showed up and I have no fix and I am very confused. All the objects are to scale.

Table and Chair

This was a mess of an assignment. The chair was too small for the table, Arnold wasn’t working most of the time, I could find the render backdrop. I grew very impatient with this assignment that I did not finish the chair texture. I finally went to youtube after fighting the urge to kill my computer and figured out how to use Arnold again, I went through my computer and found the backdrop to use I still didn't finish the textures but I will accept that after all the frustration it caused me.

Booleans, Edge Flow, Basic UV'ing, Basic Texturing

The pencil was a learning experience. I had little trouble when it came to doing the work at the lab but when I came home all the preferences were different and I had to figure out the problems. My biggest enemy was booleans because it took forever to figure out why the tip and body didn’t go together. The solution was in my settings and one of the TA’s helped in solving the problem. I tried to recreate the reference that was supplied to us and I feel I came close. I created what was asked.
